• Substitutes are paid a daily rate based on their assignment:

    Substitute Teachers/Aides


    • $90.00 a day for first ten days
    • $105.00 a day for same assignment on the 11th day
    Degreed (Bachelors or higher):
    • $100.00 a day for first ten days
    • $120.00 a day for same assignment on the 11th day

    Certified Teacher (SBEC):

    • $115.00 a day for first ten days
    • $145.00 a day for same assignment on the 11th day 


    • $150 a day for first ten days
    • $175.00 a day for same assignment on the 11th day


    • $125 a day for first ten days
    • $145.00 a day for same assignment on the 11th day


    Professional/Administrator Sub Pay

    Campus Administrator:

    $250 per day


    $225 per day

    Paraprofessional Sub Pay


    $10.00 to 15.00 per hour (depending on the assignment)

    Child Care Provider

    $13.02 per hour

    Auxiliary Sub Pay

    Bus Driver:

    $20.00 per hour

    Child Nutrition:

    $10.75 per hour


    $10.75 per hour



    High School Student Worker:

    $8.00 per hour


    Academic Tutors/ Interventionist (Before/During/Afterschool): 

    $25 hour (SBEC Texas Certification)  $20 hour (Bachelors Degree)  $15 hour (Minimum of 24 hours of College Credit)
    Substitute Employee Training
    Substitute employee training sessions are held at Central Administration Office located at 10335 Hwy 290 East in Manor, Texas 78653. Applicants must complete an online substitute application to apply for substitute employment. The Human Capital administrative team reviews employment applications and selects substitutes for consideration.
    All selected substitutes are notified prior to the training.
    Those selected will be notified by e-mail of the date and time of  
    the scheduled substitute training session.  
    Please complete the following to be considered to substitute:
    1. Complete a Manor ISD Online Application
    2. Additional Substitute Qualifications
    • Substitute Teaching Requirements: You must have at least 24 college hours or be enrolled in college with a minimum of 12 college hours.
    • RN & LVN – must have completed and maintained an applicable health care license.
    • Educational assistant/associate or clerical support substitutes – must have successfully obtained a High School Diploma or a GED Certificate and pass a literacy test.
    • Successfully pass a criminal history background check
    • All selected applicants must complete a state mandated criminal background check according to TEA rules and guidelines.  Applicants must pay $47.99 for the cost of the state mandated criminal background check.  Details regarding the state mandated background check will be discussed at the substitute employee training session.  Please note, substitutes cannot work until the state mandated background check has been completed. If fingerprints are needed, you will receive an e-mail from Identogo.
    Substitute Document Requirements
    District policy requires that the following items and files be submitted to the Human Capital Department before substituting with Manor ISD. Please download these forms and bring them with you when attending the substitute training session to insure your application file is complete. Copies of these forms and any assistance you might need completing these forms will be provided for you at the substitute training session.
    • Original proof of identity and employment eligibility (Social Security Card, Driver’s License, and Resident Card)
    • A copy of your high school diploma, GED, or college transcript
    • A copy of your teaching certificate (if applicable)
    • Voided Check for Direct Deposit

    Manor ISD utilizes an automated system that will greatly simplify and streamline the process of recording absences and finding substitutes for classroom teachers. This service is called AESOP (Automated Educational Substitute Operator).


    The AESOP system is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Manor ISD employees may utilize the system on the internet at or by way of a toll free automated voice instruction menu system at 1-800-94-AESOP (1-800-942-3767).
